KQED The California Report Magazine

Some of the shows I helped produce for KQED's weekly half-hour magazine podcast.

The Loss of My Family's Farm Is a Loss for California's Japanese Agricultural Legacy

I worked with the reporter to turn her print story into an audio essay, including tape from her interview with her dad. I also chose the sound bites and scored this story.

Pronouns Don't 'Work' the Same in All Languages. Here's How One Multilingual Family Navigates Gender

I co-reported and co-produced this story with reporter Elena Neale-Sacks.

An Investigative Reporter Digs Into Troubling Stories About His Own High School Journalism Teacher

I pre-interviewed this reporter about a print article he'd written and prepped the host interview by puting together an outline and list of questions. I also selected the actualities from the reporter's investigation and pulled tape from a school board meeting.

Betty Reid Soskin at 100: The Life of the Nation's Oldest Park Ranger, in Her Own Words

I edited and cut down a longer version of this story from The Kitchen Sisters.

Youth Takeover: My Impostor Syndrome Started in Elementary School

I worked with high school students, helping them identify interview subjects, gather tape, track and edit their scripts. This was part of KQED's Youth Takeover, featuring content produced by Bay Area high schoolers.
